Climate Futures Toolbox: Novice User Tutorial

Do you wonder what the climate change predictions look like for your own backyard? We have a tool that makes it easy to download climate data and then spatially project those data onto your house, your local river, or your neighborhood playground to see what you can expect to see in the next 80 years of climate change. The Climate Futures Toolbox (CFT) allows R users to download future climate scenarios for specified geographical area, time-frame, climate variables, and climate simulations with the ease of open street map. This session will cover the basics of installing the CFT package, identifying geographic areas of interest, downloading and storing climate data, and conducting analyses on those data. You can expect a combination of pre-recorded content, live instruction from Ty Tuff, and a question-and-answer session to help you overcome specific problems.
