Ecological Scenarios and RAD

Natural resource managers worldwide are grappling with how to manage resources under non-stationarity. The Resist-Accept-Direct (RAD) framework is a simple, flexible, decision-making tool to address this problem, but relies heavily on the ability to characterize the range of plausible ecological futures. For the NC CASC Climate Solutions Days, we will kickstart a project to develop ecological scenarios with boundary actors who develop and translate science for resource-management planning and decision making. This working group session will convene boundary actors and scientists to initiate a path toward our ultimate objectives: (1) develop an approach for crafting ecological scenarios and (2) test, refine, and demonstrate the utility and feasibility of the ecological scenarios approach.
