Adapting to Future Fire Regimes Across Ecosystems of the North Central Region

This session will provide brief summaries by experts on the expected changes to fire regimes in the diverse ecosystem types of the North Central region, including forests, grasslands, and sagebrush. Presentations will also touch on potential adaptation options in each ecosystem type. However, there are many unknowns about how management can help communities and ecosystems adapt to these changing fire regimes. We hope to gather a diverse group of managers and scientists to discuss potential innovative adaptation options in each ecosystem type and hear about different strategies or ideas that have already been employed throughout the region.

Presentations: How fires are changing in North Central region ecosystems and applicable management strategies.

Discussion: How management can adapt ecosystems and communities for future fires
