Upcoming Webinar: Biological Control Development, Implementation, and Monitoring

Date

Join NC RISCC on June 30 (9-10 AM MT) for a webinar featuring three experts who will explore the foundations of classical biocontrol, emerging efforts to manage invasive annual grasses, and research on how biocontrol agents adapt and spread after release.

Joseph "Joey" Milan (BLM) will cover agent selection, host-specificity testing, implementation, and monitoring, while highlighting how biocontrol fits within integrated pest management and ecosystem restoration efforts.

Dr. Brian Rector (USDA-ARS) will present on the potential for classical biological control as a self-sustaining management strategy and provide an update on USDA-ARS efforts to develop biocontrol solutions for these widespread invaders.

Dr. Eliza Clark (CU Boulder) will examine how biocontrol agents adapt, expand their ranges, and respond to new environments, revealing how evolution can influence long-term biocontrol outcomes.
