Are you a resource manager or researcher interested in learning how to work with climate data in Python? If so, the North Central Climate Adaptation Science Center and Conservation Science Partners invite you to register for a Climate Data 101 in Python Workshop.

When: This workshop has been postponed. Please watch this space for updates.

Who: The workshop is designed for federal and state agency employees, university researchers, graduate students, and others who use climate data to understand global environmental change in their work. We strongly encourage participants to have some prior background using the Python programming language, however prior programming experience is not required.

Where: Online

What: In this free virtual workshop, you will learn how to use:

  • Climate model data (MACAv2) downloaded from the Climate Toolbox.
  • Python, specifically rioxarray and xarray, to work with netCDF, csv, and geotiff file formats.

How: All work will be completed using Google Colab. All you need to attend this workshop is a computer with internet access. No computer setup is required. All workshop lessons are posted here on the Earth Lab open learning portal and all workshop activities will be shared through a Google Drive link sent to you prior to the workshop.

RSVP: To register, fill out this RSVP form by Wednesday July 14, 2021. Space is limited, so spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that in the past this workshop has filled up quickly. If you register and discover that you can no longer attend, please let us know so that we can offer your spot to someone on the waitlist. You will be notified whether you have received a spot or are on the waitlist by Monday, July 19.
