New “Innovation in Climate Adaptation” Report from CASC Network and Partners

New “Innovation in Climate Adaptation” Report from CASC Network and Partners

Date

Innovation in Climate Adaptation was produced by National Wildlife Federation, the USGS CASC network, and the IUCN Species Survival Commission Climate Change Specialist Group with input from an “international workgroup of adaptation experts.” The report was published yesterday (Jan. 17, 2024) with NC CASC’s Regional Administrator Molly Cross as a lead author.

This report is designed as a resource for innovative practices in climate adaptation science, which is increasingly important in our world of high uncertainty and rapid change. The authors encourage creativity, interdisciplinary work, and bold thinking to “explore the theory and practice of innovation in the context of climate adaptation and natural resource management.” The report explores these ideas by discussing theories of innovation, focusing on overcoming barriers, and explaining how to support innovative work; furthermore, the authors show innovation in action with a series of case studies.
