NC CASC attends Annual CASC Consortium Meeting
Date
Earlier this month, three NC CASC team members (Jane Wolken, Imtiaz Rangwala, and Hailey Robe) traveled to Juneau, Alaska for the annual CASC Consortium Meeting. Members of nine regional CASCs and the National CASC convened to gain understanding of the current federal landscape; identify short- and long- term challenges and develop strategies to mitigate them; and build collaborations among regions for network-scale research activities and opportunities. Topics also included identification of regional CASC strengths in alignment with administrative priorities and strategies to coordinate communication efforts.
In addition to structured conversations regarding the future of the network, CASC members toured the nearby Mendenhall Glacier and surrounding area to learn about ongoing Alaska CASC projects, including the Juneau Glacial Flood Dashboard.
This meeting created space for CASC members to connect in person, deepening collaboration across regions to better confront pressing climate and adaptation challenges.
