NPR highlighted replanting initiatives in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park in an article earlier this week titled "Wildfires are killing California's ancient giants. Can seedlings save the species?" The issues discussed in the article directly address research being done by our Cross-Park RAD Project in collaboration with managers of these parks - specifically, how to respond to intense or severe fires both during and after the event.
