William R. Travis is Associate Professor in the Department of Geography, University of Colorado Boulder and Deputy Director of Earth Lab. He studies socio-ecological systems, including the human dimensions of natural hazards, climate change, and land use and land cover. His current projects focus on risk and decision-analysis applied to climate adaptation, especially in agricultural and infrastructural systems, and system responses to extreme events. Bill is also a research member of the Western Water Assessment, a NOAA Regional Integrated Science and Applications (RISA) program. He received his Ph.D. in Geography from Clark University.
