Stefan Tangen: New NC CASC USGS Research Coordinator
Date
Congratulations to Stefan Tangen, the new NC CASC USGS Research Coordinator! Stefan previously worked with the CASC and USGS through his position with the Great Plains Tribal Water Alliance, where he was a BIA-funded Tribal Climate Resilience Liaison for the last five years.
“In this role, Stefan developed the NC CASC's tribal engagement strategy and led its implementation by developing climate training and education for tribal resource managers, facilitating research collaborations between scientists and tribes, supporting tribal grant writing capacity, providing mentorship to the next generation of tribal climate adaptation professionals, and actively working on projects with tribal partners.
In his new role, Stefan will be responsible for managing our portfolio of USGS-funded regional projects and will broaden his partnership base to include additional activities with federal, state, and academic institutions.”
